The face behind Japan IT Connect is Paul Johansen, a Canberra based IT industry professional with 20+ years experience of the Asia Pacific region, in particular Japan.
Based in Tokyo in the early 90's, Paul, as the only western member of the Japanese sales/technical operation of a US based enterprise software vendor, managed the customer support team and was the key link between Japan and U.S. based product centres on business and technical issues.
After returning to Australia in the mid-90s Paul maintained a very close working relationship with Japan through consulting assignments and senior management roles with the Asia Pacific and European HQs of two major US software vendors. Paul was responsible for a range of Japan based projects that ranged from dealing with sensitive partner relationship issues to product centre representation and sales and technical organisation restructuring.
In 2005 Paul investigated the potential of the Japan market for a Sydney based vendor of advanced, enterprise level security and threat management software. After initial market research, product localisation, partner development and product launch, Paul continues to provide support to this organisation through the on-going development of market opportunities.
More recently Paul has been involved in assessing the Asia Pacific market potential for US based voice biometric technology vendors.
